Greenland is one of the last truly wild fly-fishing destinations on Earth. Its untouched landscapes, glacial rivers, and dramatic fjords offer a rare chance to fish in complete solitude — far from the crowds and heat of Europe’s summer.
Unlike the crystal-clear alpine rivers of Slovenia, Greenland’s rivers are glacial-blue, colored by mineral-rich meltwater. Beneath their icy surface swim large Arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus) — powerful, vibrant fish known for aggressive takes and stunning spawning colors.
The Flyfishingodec Greenland 2027 program is fully prepared, and the dates 3–10 August 2027 are officially confirmed. This adventure is limited to a small group of up to 6 anglers, ensuring space, flexibility and a true wilderness experience.
We travel to West Greenland – Kangerlusuag region, one of the most remote and untouched Arctic environments. The river system is large, wild and demanding — ideal for anglers who enjoy independence, exploration and physical challenge.
Arctic char are among the most beautiful and resilient fish in the northern hemisphere. Their colors range from silver to fiery orange, especially during the spawning season. In Greenland’s glacial rivers, they grow large and strong — offering thrilling fights and unforgettable moments for fly fishing enthusiasts.
This expedition is fully self-guided. Anglers fish independently, without a guide, choosing their own spots, pace and daily rhythm.

For five full days, we fish a big West Greenland river known for strong runs of bright Arctic char. The primary technique is streamer fishing in fast water, deep pools and long drifts.

Flights to Greenland are arranged from Copenhagen, the main international gateway for Air Greenland. Each angler organizes their own travel to Copenhagen based on their location and preferred airline.
From Copenhagen, we fly together to West Greenland — the central hub for accessing remote river systems.
If any angler prefers to fly directly to Greenland from their home country (for example, from United States or other international airports), that is completely possible. In that case, they simply join the group upon arrival in Kangerlusuag, where the expedition logistics and boat transfer to the river begin.
